Role Posting: Youth Ambassador

The Local Charity is a volunteer-run Canadian registered non-profit charity based in Toronto devoted to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our mission is to enable and inspire individuals to reach their greatest potential. Our goal is to empower them to be the author of their own story.
Our approach is through improving access to technology & education for vulnerable youths in our local community, as well as promote mental wellness and emotional intelligence.
We are a lean operation run entirely by volunteers with minimal overhead expenses.

Qualifications:
- Represent one or more marginalized population between the ages of 16-29
- Believing in our cause is mandatory 🙂
- Vision to inspire and lead our local community to be charitable, be kind to one another (be it via The Local Charity, Success Accelerator or other avenue).
- Have insight & opinions about community programming
- Proactive, resourceful, creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the Youth Ambassador for marginalized young people in the Greater Toronto Area, generate awareness, advocate, and be an ally!
- Be the voice for young people and help shape the offerings of program through sharing your experience or insight
- Join our monthly team meetings (virtual, usually Saturday mornings) and work with members of the team to actively design and improve our programming.
- You might also be involved in preparing social media or newsletter content
- Outreach to get more participants for youth programs
The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
- Growth mindset and interest in getting to the next level
- Good organizational and time management abilities
- Have an interest in learning about and advocating for youth empowerment, a different mindset approaching success and education

Time Commitment: The Youth Ambassador would be able to contribute at least 3 to 10 hours a month.
