Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is the time commitment for volunteer roles?
A: We ask volunteers to commit at least 5 hours per week to ensure meaningful contribution to our programs. Most of our typical volunteers contribute up to 10-15 hours weekly. As a volunteer-run organization, when we post a role, it represents an area where we genuinely need support, and contributions below 5 hours weekly don’t allow for substantial impact. We’ll work with you to define specific responsibilities that align with your availability within this framework.

Q: Are volunteer positions remote or in-person?
A: Most of our operations are virtual, with in-person gatherings several times a year for team socials and special events. This hybrid approach allows volunteers to contribute meaningfully while maintaining flexibility in how and where they work.

Q: What skills or experience are you looking for in volunteers?
A: We seek volunteers with established domain expertise in areas such as youth empowerment, mental wellness, education, or digital literacy. As a volunteer-run organization without dedicated staff mentors, we value professionals who can contribute independently in their area of expertise. We particularly welcome experience in program development, fundraising, marketing, event planning, or digital technology. While specific skills vary by role, all volunteers should share our passion for empowering youth and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Q: Do you have opportunities for both short-term and long-term volunteering?
A: Yes! We match volunteers to projects based on their desired time commitment and contribution level. Our typical volunteer term is 12 months, though we have flexibility for both shorter project-based commitments and longer engagements. Many of our dedicated volunteers have remained with us for up to three years. For students seeking internship opportunities, we do our best to accommodate these arrangements based on our current bandwidth and available mentorship capacity.
