Role Posting: Marketing/Project Coordinator

Note: This is a contract position in partnership with the Career Education Council at the rate of $17/hour, 35 hours/week for up to 13 weeks (to be finalized), exclusively for their Connect-ED Working Circles program. This role will report directly to the Executive Director.

The Local Charity is a volunteer-run community of professionals empowering youth from our local community to reach their greatest potential! We are a Canadian registered non-profit charity based in Toronto devoted to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our mission is to enable and inspire individuals to reach their greatest potential. Our goal is to empower them to be the author of their own story.

The two main focuses for the Marketing/Project Coordinator are:

(1) execute the marketing plan, primarily curating content and managing the social media platforms for both brands (The Local Charity and Success Accelerator), email campaigns to stakeholders, and other marketing channels.
(2) support program operations such as assisting with creating materials for the workbook, feedback survey, analyzing results, and outreach to stakeholders (community partners and youth).
… and other project management tasks as needed to support The Local Charity and its mission!

Qualifications:

  • Believing in our cause is mandatory 🙂
  • Vision to inspire and lead our local community to be charitable, be kind to one another (be it via The Local Charity or other avenues).
  • Comfortable using Canva and other marketing tools to curate assets for marketing campaigns and program communications
  • Comfortable with using various technology programs such as Google Suite, video conferencing, etc. to complete tasks as required (or a willingness to learn)
  • Familiarity in marketing, with a focus on digital and social media
  • Familiarity in business operations to support building education programs (project management to run the program)
  • Proactive, resourceful, creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementation of The Local Charity’s marketing and communication strategy to meet philanthropic objectives, a plan that will strengthen existing relationships and build support for specific campaign initiatives
  • Develop and maintain key messaging and branding, across all communications channels with the support of the team
  • Implement a digital strategy that encompasses web content, web marketing, social media, public relations, and other collateral
  • Writing, editing, and proofing of written assets
  • Review and polish fundraising materials and proposals for messaging, consistency, appropriateness, and quality
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
  • Provide marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring campaign success
  • Provide market research, forecast, campaign results

Problem-Solving skills

  • Ability to deal with issues as they arise and overcome challenges in a collaborative fashion
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion seeking team input, using data, and flagging the issue for support as needed

*Clearance of vulnerable sector background check with the police via our agency is required
