Role Posting: Financial Literacy Instructor

The Local Charity is a volunteer-run Canadian registered non-profit charity based in Toronto devoted to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our mission is to enable and inspire individuals to reach their greatest potential. Our goal is to empower them to be the author of their own story.
Our approach is through improving access to technology & education for vulnerable youths in our local community, as well as promote mental wellness and emotional intelligence.

We are a lean operation run entirely by volunteers with minimal overhead expenses.

Job Brief
We are looking for Instructor(s) to lead the financial literacy workshop (virtually or in-person). There will be several variations of the workshop targeted towards more specific age groups and knowledge level of personal finance, hence looking for a match for the various needs.
We have content to run the program, and also open to your rendition of a financial literacy workshop.
Our ideal candidate is familiar with the various investment vehicles, government grants program (particularly in Canada + Ontario) and can provide general information about comparing pros and cons of utilizing these tools in different situations and offer valuable insights. In addition, being aware of the importance that mindset plays in taking control of your financial future is strongly desired!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-create program syllabus and content along with our Education Program Director
  • Lead the workshops
  • Provide feedback to the team to revise the program

*Clearance of vulnerable sector background check with the police via our agency is required
